Reno, Nevada — Faces Of Success Radio 101 FM R&B is deeply saddened to announce that Michael Eugene Archer, known to the world as D’Angelo, has died at age 51 after a battle with cancer. His family confirmed the news and asked fans to remember the “gift of song that he has left for the world.”
D’Angelo was a powerful and gentle voice in R&B and a pioneer of neo‑soul. Over his career he won four Grammy
Awards for three albums and left listeners songs that were honest, soulful and timeless. His performance in the music video for “Untitled (How Does It Feel)” remains one of his most memorable moments.
“We are heartbroken by this loss,” said Pearl Johnson, Station Director of Faces Of Success Radio 101 FM R&B. “D’Angelo’s music brought comfort and inspiration to so many. We join his family and fans in mourning him and celebrating the beauty he shared.”
